There's an old couple, holding hands, strolling down a crowded 5th Avenue sidewalk. Though it's the weekend, this area is still quite busy, filled especially with anxious tourists trying to get to the next destination. Comparing to the rest of the world, this couple seems to be living in a slower time.
Thoughts trigger emotions, and emotions trigger more emotions. In cognitive behavioral therapy, the number one thing we learn is to be non-reactive to thoughts. Acknowledge its existence but don't feed more into it.
Emotions. What a powerful instinct. Our emotions are our friends, they make us humans. Whether it’s love, fear, found, or lost, without emotions, we become soulless beings and exist without meanings. So enjoy heartbreaks and embrace anxieties. Because there’s someone out there who might be too broken to feel.
I wake up and look in the mirror, am I still growing up or already growing old? This is the oldest I've ever been and youngest I’ll ever be.
