In my college years, I studied abroad in Europe multiple times but never visited France before. Back then whenever my friends mentioned Paris as a weekend trip destination, I somehow never aroused interest. Being a cultural fanatic, I also hate visiting only tourist attractions when traveling, which I knew my friends at the time loved to do. Constantly following an agenda to check spots off a travel guide is just my worst nightmare. Say yes to the Eiffel Tower, but also yes to that bar in the corner.
With that being said, the week-long work trip to Paris was simply amazing. Besides the beautiful architecture, gourmet food and wine, I especially appreciated the local experience. The company put us in a Chateau for a night where we had the opportunity to bond with co-workers from all offices through wine, food, and dance. I did break my ankle (ouch) on the same night due to a little too much to drink and a little too many inches on my heels. LOL. But this incident actually made my night even more memorable. I can now proudly say that the first time I ever injured my ankle was from having too much fun on a work seminar in Paris.
I ended up limping around the Lourve in crotches the following weekend, still had a freaking blast.
