The time has come when I officially gave up on using my Fujifilm X100F and opted for the iphone 8plus. Still remember exactly a year ago when I wrote a blog post about how excited I was to become my own photographer. GG Monica. GG.
For Thanksgiving this year we ended up going somewhere more wintery than NYC. Well initially the plan was to go to Europe but for budget reasons we landed on Quebec City, which is probably as French as it gets in North America. And guess what? It was COLD. Like 20 degrees or less plus wind and snow. The most amazing part of the trip though, was that we stayed at the famous Château Frontenac. It was definitely a unique experience going to bed in the same building where the British Colonial governors conducted business back in the late 19th century. Even though we only stayed for two days, I had an amazing time exploring local French food, German holiday market, and a beautiful Notre Dame. Old Quebec is a very romantic place.
Without expectations, we rode a three hour train to Montreal for the weekend. A complete change of scenery I suppose, from an ancient town to a huge cosmopolitan city. Montreal definitely carries the big city aura, with extra human architecture and furious rhythm. We ate, drank, hiked in the park, and learnt about the stories behind Notre Dames.
In this city I sabered my first bottle of champagne. I certainly didn’t look too fabulous doing it and was way too fascinated by the outcome. But hey, I got to chop things open and then get drunk, what’s not to love?
