As a summer baby, it's difficult for me to appreciate winter on the east coast. I don't like insulated boots and thick layers of clothing, don't like muddy roads after a day of snowing, don't like freeze burns on my hands when holding my morning coffee. Winter makes me unmotivated, makes me question my intentions of moving here, makes me feel like all these holidays are created to over compensate this shitty weather.
So before the temperature disables me, I try to be outdoors as often as I can. On this chill late fall night, I went up to my rooftop wearing Kenny's Alexander Wang T-shirt. Thank god for rooftops, where New Yorkers can find some unusual peace overlooking at this crazy concrete jungle. The black shirt makes me partially invisible. Silhouettes of NYC skyline, shimmer on my shirt, and gloss of my ash blonde hair blend well with the color of night fall.
I sat on the ledge of this 25-floor building, feeling recharged.
